Multimedia Samples
Here are hot links to some multimedia files I've put together over the last few years. Some are all photos, all video, or mixed. They show a wide range of genres and shooting conditions. Most of these shorts were rendered as small files in .mpeg4 format for fast streaming from a Google server. Quick Time is required to enjoy these files. Sharing Multimedia Files

Sharing multimedia files has always been a challenge because the file size gets much larger as the size of the video and quality of audio and video streams get better. The files above stream with a video size of 352 x 288 pixels at a video bit rate of 300 Kbps and an audio bit rate of 128 Kbps stereo. By contrast, a DVD will display at 720 x 480 and 10X the bit rate. DVD bit streams are way too large for an ordinary broadband connection. So, here are other ways to share multimedia:

• VHS Tape - My Pinnacle video editing software can render to a tape but I don't use this method much any more because the quality is inferior to other methods.

• Computer File on Disc - I can render my multimedia to a computer file (e.g., .mpg) and then copy it to a CD or DVD. This disc will not aurorun unless I put special files in the root folder.

• DVD (or, VCD) Disc - I normally burn my multimedia to play as a set top DVD because the software automatically formats the file into the correct format (e.g., .VOB) and formats the disc into the correct format (e.g., file and folder details).
