| Here's our latest big trip to a far corner of the world. We decided that we just had to see Mainland China since it has over four times the population with the same surface area as the USA and there're so many sights to see - the 2008 Olympics, Beijing, Shanghai, Three Gorges Dam and the Terra Cotta Soldiers just to name a few. And, China is such a powerhouse all over the world. We spent four nights in Beijing, three in Shanghai, five in the Three Gorges area on a Regal China Cruise ship, two in Xian, two in Guilin and three in Hong Kong with Grand Circle Travel. For our earlier trip to Hong Kong, Kowloon, the New Territoires and Canton, go here.
Go here for more on: Beijing, Shanghai, Three Gorges Dam project, Yangtze River, Terra Cott Soldiers (Xian), Chongquing, and webcams. Our travel buddies should go here for a lot of photos of us all traveling together. The best parts of this trip were exploring a new part of the world, learning about Chinese history and their people, experiencing new sights, food and sounds, and meeting new people. All in all, a wonderful trip. |
