The Land of the Northern Lights
Oslo/Bergen, Norway

Norway is a rich, conservative country that offers a lot of interesting sights. After touring Oslo, we took trains, a boat, and a bus to get across the rugged mountainous terrain to Bergen on the west side.

The Viking (Kon-Tiki) Museum is sure to please everyone. Thor Heyerdahl's life and his travels in reed rafts are especially well documented.

Vigeland (Frogner) Park and Museum was probably the highlight of Oslo for me. The many sculptures depict the cycle of life through birth, growth, and decay. The left picture relates to struggles between man and wife. The right picture, to the intertwining of humanity.

Our journey across Norway took us up, down and all around some really tough terrain. I wish I had room for more pictures - the ones below are but a sampling.

Finally, we arrived in Bergen - tired and out of film. We looked at more pretty scenery but could sense that winter was on the way.
