Volunteer Rose |
The Senior Learning Center is staffed
100% by volunteers. Rose and Nan have been our Monday morning
and Monday afternoon front office volunteers
for as long as we can remember.
They are responsible for meeting and greeting our senior
clients, answering the phones, signing-up people for HAL-PC, HALNet
and the various computer classes.
As do other front office volunteers, they
also help instructors set-up classes and make calls
to get seniors confirmed for specific classes. |

******************** Too Old To Learn……….. NO WAY! If you have ever: 1. Been intimidated by computers. 2. Felt that computers hate you. 3. Tried to learn about computers from your spouse or kids (usually patience is the main issue here). 4. Thought or said I’m too old to learn. 5. Took a computer course with a mixed group (18 to 80 years old), and couldn’t keep up with the 18 year olds. 6. Took a computer course, but the course notes were just an outline of the course. 7. Feel like you’re still in the Stone Age instead of the Information age. 8. Feel “out-of-touch” with your grandkid's conversations. 9. Call parts of a computer “the thing-a-ma-bob” or whach-a-ma-call-it” 10. Marveled at what other people can do with a computer.
