After a few seconds you should get a dialog box similar to the following except that it should have ATI commands listed in the white area with either numbers or some descriptions of the modem. NOTE: Remember the Highest Speed that is listed on your screen. That information will be needed further on in the checkout. (The highest speed is grayed out in this example)
NOTE: If you do not have information in the white section (as in the above example), then your modem did not respond to the information request that Windows had made. Usually if the modem does not respond and you receive a blank white section like the above, you should have seen a dialog box similar to the following .
If you got either this message or no information at all in the white “More Info…” section, then your modem is not installed (or connected) correctly. It could be not seated properly if it is a modem card or possibly not turned ON if it is an external modem. If the modem and computer communicated properly then OK (or close) the More Info box and click on the General tab. Once back at the Modem Properties General dialog box, click on the Dialing Properties button. |
