Modem Checkout Items

On the General tab, click the Properties Box.

Your modem should be listed and it should be on the same Port listed in the Diagnostics box earlier.

Speaker volume for internal modems can be set here.

The Maximum Speed should be set to what the manufacturer recommends. If this is not known, then set it to the number that was reported in the Diagnostics More Info screen. Usually newer 33.6 and faster modems can use a setting of 115200.

NOTE: If you have problems with your modem, try lowering this setting to 57600 and test to see if it helps.
