Outlook 2002/Office XP Options
If you are experiencing odd disconnects whenever you check your Email, then check the following.

Click on TOOLS, then OPTIONS. See Figure 1.

Remove the check out of "Hang up when finished with a manual Send/Receive" to stop Outlook from Hanging up when you check mail. See Figure 17.
Click Apply.

If you want your spelling checker turned on, click on the Spelling tab.

Make sure "Always check spelling before sending" is checked. See Figure 3.
Click Apply.

It is suggested that you choose "Plain Text" for sending your Emails. See Figure 4.
Click Apply then click OK.
Enable Authentication
- Open Outlook 2002/2003, go to; Tools, E-mail Accounts. Click "View or change existing e-mail accounts" then click NEXT.
- Click on your HAL-PC/HALNet account then click Change. You will see your account information displayed.
- Click the "More Settings" button, then click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Put a check in the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" box. Make sure "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is dotted.
- Click OK, then click Next, then click Finish. Once done, close down your Outlook.
- Finished.
