Installed new PC boards to update coin operated games. These were
video games and pinball games that were run by one or more
microprocessors such as 8080, Z-80, 6800, 6802, 6808, 68009, 6809E,
6500, 6503 and 11660 CPU. Worked on B & W and Color monitors
with broadcast scan and X-Y Scan. Did color convergence by myself.
Did full calibration of the system to display for full screen. Taught others
how to troubleshoot down to board level. Field techs would bring me the
boards to repair down to the component level. located alterative parts
by use of an IC Master. With the pinball games. Worked with many
different kinds of switches, lamps, solenoids and display lights. Everything
that was needed to get these games up and running was done by me.
Also made modifications called for by manufactures of the games.

Transmitter Supervisor
Worked at transmitter site of 10,000 watt AM broadcast station with
nine tower directional system. Calibrated remote meters to ones at the
base of each tower. Made very complex adjustments of phase and power
ratio to each tower. Once a week ran a 5,000 watt three phase emergency
generator for testing and did routine maintenance on it. Checked a number of
voltmeter and ammeter readings to get an indication of possible failure. Did the
proof-of-performance test with the chief engineer for the F.C.C. requirements.
Troubleshot and repaired the equipment down to component level.

Troubleshooted, repaired down to component level. Calibrated parts of
systems at the transmitter site. By use of voltage, current, and RF power
meter readings was able to located bad stages of transmitters. By use of
some of the same meters, was able to do alignment of stages of
transmitters. Did interpretation of the composite video waveform.
Checked levels and time duration of sync. pulses, vertical sync. pulse
vertical sync. serrations, equalizing pulses as coincident with horizontal sync.
and vertical pulses. Checked the color bust for level and to be sure there
were eight to ten cycles on the back porch of the horizontal sync. Then
checked the white level and the black level as it related to the set up.
Adjusted levels of compression, blanking levels, setup, and sync. level.
Checked vertical interval test signal for stairstep test signal as related
to amplitude nonlinearity at field-rate, the widow bar for distortion at line-rate.
For transient response, Checked T, 2T for wideband transient response
Used T/2. With a vectorscope, adjusted pulse phase and level. Did
differential-phase adjustment using a Tektronix 520 vectorscope. Did
differential-gain measurements with same vectorscope.

Troubleshot, repaired down to component level transmitter and signal
processing equipment. At one time there was an FM station as well as
the AM. When the FM station was sold and before it was moved. With
the Chief Engineer moved the remote controls and meters. When new
towers were put up for AM station up made impedenance measurements.
Did routine maintenance of turntables and tape recorders. Worked with
the phone company to test remote program lines. Taught new announcers
how to run the control board. If the announcer made mistake I had but
seconds to correct it.
