The Japan Grand Prix was held in June 1996 in Fukuoka Japan. One of the ITTF Pro Tour events, this featured top caliber play.
Koji Matsushita was a very big crowd favorite. However, Ding Song (world #8) won the event. The playing hall was magnificent. Conditions (aside from the heat) were excellent and brought out the best in the competitors. Many new friends were made.
