Books on the Web

There are now a number of books available on the web that can be used by students. I include in this category all manuscripts that explain science. These are of variable quality. I list both manuscripts that I have read, and manuscripts that I have "looked at". These should be used after students have done exploratory activities, or when students wish to get answers to questions that can not be demonstrated in your lab.

Seeing, Hearing, and Smelling the World - This very readable book at the Howard Hughes Institute gives many details about how the senses operate. It gives a variety of information that can be used with students at many levels, and that I even found interesting. It contains no animations, but the layout is good.
