  • I have a degree in Computer Related Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma.
  • I am a "systems programmer/administrator/tech support" person for a oil company in Houston, Texas. See my resume.
  • I mainly work on UNIX based systems (Sun, RS6000s) and supercomputers (SP2s (see pic) and SGI Powerchallenge(see pic)). I have been most recently working in Sun Solaris, CGI,Perl,JavaScript, Samba/CIFS, Oracle, Intranet Search Engines,Web Servers, Linux, Beowulf(see pic), and Windows NT and 98.   • I am a strong supporter of Open Source/Free software especially GNU/Linux and Apache and try to use them whenever I can.
  • I also am somewhat of a Webmaster on our intranet but I owe a lot to others in that area and mainly consider myself
    a page author, html helper, web proponent, and cgi programmer.
  • I run Red Hat Linux 6.0 on a Dell XPS90 with 128MB of memory as my Internet Dial-UP Server, Firewall and Router. I use Windoze XP as my primary desktop running on an AMD 1.2GHz computer with 768MB of RAM. Windoze sure needs a serious computer but my wife needs Windows for her work so I suffer with it. I use the VNC software to manage my linux box from my Windows desktop. I also run a Compaq M300 laptop dual booted with Windows 98 and RedHat Linux. My latest computer hobby is video editing with my new Sony TRV510 Digital Camcorder and Studio DV software from Pinnacle. I am also enjoying my Handspring Visor PDA! and Kodak DC4800 digital camera

But work is only Mon-Fri 8-5. The rest of my time is spent with my wife Rachel, my son Noah, and my dog Puf pursuing fun and different activities in Houston. We like to sample Houston's excellent cuisine, zoo, museums, and nature areas. We are also trying to travel and experience as much of this world as possible. I also enjoy painting , woodworking, gardening, television, and church, sunday school, and science. Our favorite activity is to spend time with Noah and watch him working his way through life!
