Dear Sisters & Brothers of Houston #385

Well another year has come and gone and a new one is under way. Our installation was held this past Saturday, June 7th, at Holland Lodge. It is hard to believe that Denis and I walked this same path 10 years ago when we served as your Worthy Matron/Worthy Patron in 1993-94. A great big "THANK YOU" to those who assisted in our installation.

Our theme for this year is Patriotism and our Motto is "In God We Trust". In conjunction, our colors are (of course) Red, White & Blue. Our Scripture is Ecclesiastes 4:12, "If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."

A reminder to our officers - Sister Winona Forbus has graciously agreed to be our Officer contact. If for some reason you will not be able to be attend a particular meeting, please contact Sister Winona at (713) 626-3690 so that she can arrange for a protem.

Chapter Calendar and Refreshments: To allow each of you to mark your calendars, go to the 2003-2004 calendar page. Remember - this calendar is subject to change.

A breakdown of refreshment committee assignments can also be found on the calendar page. Thank you for agreeing to these months. However, should something come up and you find you need to change, please let me know.

Committees:

Denis and I say "Thank You" to all those that have agreed to serve on the various committees. A list of those committees can be found on the Officers and Committees page.

Rosters:

We are in the process of updating our membership rosters. Postcards have been mailed to each of you, asking you to verify your information for the roster. Please complete and return as soon as possible.

Future Newsletters:

We are going to attempt something new with our quarterly newsletters. For those of you that have access to e-mail, you will receive a message containing a link to our website and the newsletter while those that do not have access to e-mail will continue to receive a hard copy. If all goes well, we can reduce our costs for printing and postage.
