Dear Sister, I received your Welcome Letter of the 19th yesterday. It found me well. my Eyes Is getting better Every Day for Anything Else I Am first rate. you think I Am sick because I Complain A Little. About the 20th of Last month I was Losing weight very fast on Account of A Severe cough I had. That As Entirely Left me Now And I Am fleshing Right Up A Gain. my Appetite is Excellent. you Need Not bother yourself About my Discharge. A man that Gets his Discharge Now has to be Sicker than I was. I Don't want A Discharge. Eleven Months More And then you can Expect Me Home if Nothing Hinders me. I Expect we Shall be starting on An Expedition before long. we Are Receiving Ambulance Teams for the Brigade. I Don't think we Shall have much More fighting this side of the River. I was glad to hear of Arnold's getting Clear. I guess Most of the New Regiments will go to Grant the hardest fighting will be Done in the East. the Health of the troops Is better. the Small pox is Nearly played out. We Are having fall weather here Now. wind And Rain, the Equinoctian Storms is on hand I Guess. I have not Any News to Day But As you Like to hear from me I thought I would Answer yours before we got on A March, if we are Going At All. I Got four Stamps with your Letter. we have been Expecting to get payed Off, they say theres four pay masters here. But that wouldnt make Any Difference. we Shall only get so much If theres An Hundred of them. I must Close hoping this Note will find All of you well.Give my Love to All.
