Tom Cordiner one of our Albion Squad As gone to the Hospital this Morning. hes Never been sick Before. it May go hard with him. He Was Boasting one day he couldnt Be Sick. Captain Sumner got Back on the 20th. he Looks Beter. he says folks in Madison Is frightened to Death. Men Are offering Large Sums for substit utes. its A pity our time isnt out So We could get A thousand for one year. I Was glad frank Bennikuh got Back All Right. I Was Wondering What had become of him. if the Next Seven Months passes off As Quick As this has I shall Be home by March. An Expedition from our Reg. And 36 Missouri left here on the 20th to try And Catch A Band of guerillas. We Expect them Back to Day. I Bought A pound Of Butter for Seventy five Cents. it tastes first rate With Coffee & Warm Bread. You Will think the Letters Comes thick Enough if you get All I Send, two A Week or More. but No less. I havent Much to Write About. All the Married Officers is Sending for their Wives. A couple of privates As theirs Already. If rather Dear rent they have to pay has the South **** Makes All they Can. the Weather is Wet And Misty to Day, rather Mean to travel. I havent much to Do At present.
