Other Foundries and Links

HMSC - Houston's Home Metal Shop Club.

I joined this group after becoming interested in metal work. It has a active foundry sub group and the members are real pros. If you are in the Houston area, make it a point to visit one of the meetings. It is normally on the second Saturday of each month. Visit the web-site for time and location.

Scott Hite's Foundry

Scott has a first class foundry. His work influenced the design of my furnace.

5Bears Foundry

This site focuses on the casting of an impellor.

Robert's Pages

Robert has links to several foundries that are interesting. Check out Andre's and Wes' links.

Lyle Landstrom's Indians

"Homemade Motorcycle Parts on a Budget"
Lyle does a great job of showing how he cast a motorcycle part from start to finish. He also has links to other foundry sites.

A Home-Build Charcoal-Fired Foundry

This site is where I got the idea to build my first furnace using a freon bottle as a shell. I didn't use charcoal to heat my furnace, but the freon bottle was a great idea for a small furnace.

Cameron's Home Foundry

This is a great home foundry web site. Lots of good information, and a member of the Hobby Foundry Web Ring.

Condor Metalworks

Furnace, Crucibles, Tools, and more

Fun With Molten Metal

This hobby caster uses a five gallon stainless steel stock pot as a shell for his furnace.

Building a Metal Casting Furnace

Jerry Twaddell gives a brief and somewhat sketchy description on how to build your own furnace for metal casting. Check out the "Custom Castings" link at the bottom of the page.

Harlan's Home Hobby Foundry

Nice backyard foundry from Dale Gillespie, a member of the Alberta Metal Enthusiasts Network. This site has been around for a while.

Rupert Wenig's Foundry

Everyone should have their own foundry building.

John Dammeyer's Foundry

Another member of Alberta Metal Enthusiasts Network.

Ray-Vin Foundry Pages

Ray Brandes has a top notch foundry page. Check out his section on RTV mold making. Ray is a regular contributor to the Yahoo "hobbicast" egroup.

Hodgson's Propane Foundry

A UK aluminum melting foundry

Terry Brown Foundry

This site has lots of good stuff. He is into everything. Also a member of the Hobby Foundry Web Ring.

Chipmaker's Metalworking World

Member of the Hobby Foundry Web Ring and contributor to the yahoo "hobbicast" egroup. Vary active hobby caster.

Hobby Casting in a Japanese Backyard?

Yes....

Quick and Dirty Foundry

Ron Thompson has an unusual (quick and dirty) furnace.

Small Tilt Furnace

Duwayne has built a small tilt furnace. He shows pictures of the furnace as it is built from scratch. Check out his other furnace.
