About Mhair

Mhair Dekmezian was born in 1985 in Houston, TX and has lived there for his entire life. For high school, he attended and graduated in 2004 from St. John's School here in Houston. He is currently enrolled as an undergraduate biochemistry major at Rice University, expecting to graduate by May 2008. His future plans include medical school.

Mhair has been involved in his community in various ways. He participated in Boy Scouts for 9 years, and has been active in his Church as a youth group leader and organist. His hobbies include digital and film photography, music, and computers. In high school, he was the leader of the computer club, where he taught other students about linux and other computer-related topics.

Mhair's political activity began fairly recently. Although having no intention of becoming a "career politician," he decided to run for office in early 2006 as the Libertarian candidate for State Representative District 134. He is also a co-president of the College Libertarians of Rice University.
