WeSTOC 2002 Trip Report

Introduction

What do you get when you mix one of the most reliable sport-touring motorcycles in the world with 6,050 miles of open road and 2 weeks of vacation? In my case you get a fantastic journey across the western half of the United States to attend the 7th annual WeSTOC (Western ST1100 Owners Club) Rally in Ashland, Oregon.

My 6,050 mile route from Houston, TX to WeSTOC '02 in Ashland, Oregon and back.

WeSTOC '02 was attended by approximately 200 people from all over the U.S. and Canada. They rode their ST's from as far away as Florida for the fun, fellowship and great riding that WeSTOC rallies always offer. For three days people from different walks of life got reacquainted with old friends and made new ones (who until that day had been only names on the ST1100 Email Listserver).

The following web pages are an account of my 14 days on the road to attend the WeSTOC '02 gathering. As usual, my 1999 Honda ST1100A never let me down as it took me across hot dry deserts, scenic mountain ranges and beautiful valleys. Enjoy!
