We operated as 2A again this year in the Field Day. We had a total of 42 CW QSOs, 367 SSB QSOs, 8 Novice CW QSOs and 5 Novice SSB QSOs, for a grand total of 422 QSOs. The total points scored (counting bonus points) was 1344. It was hot and muggy again (as usual) but we didn't have any rain. We had some trouble with some of the antennas (as usual) that affected our performance. One of the stations was used for Novice contacts some of the time and thereby reduced our overall points some, but we all enjoyed ourselves (especially the BBQ supper Saturday night). I vote for that next year!! In points count, we beat our 1998 score but fell short of our 1997 score. Bob and I plan to check out all the FD equipment this fall/winter when it cools down in Mod A and be prepared for the 2000 Field Day to break our old records. Next year we need to concentrate on improving our CW score. Yours truly will attempt to get his rusty CW fixed by June, 2000. Lord willing, we'll see you next year...de Lawson (N5ATT).
