American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta A national organization committed to the study, display, and conservation of plants, the AABGA site here offers a list of member gardens and arboreta and links to them, and an index of publications and information on a proposed national Consortium.

The American Horticultural Society is located at River Farm once owned by George Washington on the beautiful Potomac River in Alexandria, Virginia. AHS is an educational nonprofit organization that recognizes and promotes excellence in American horticulture.

AmeriMall American Gardening by The Unknown Gardener As the name implies, AmeriMall is a huge electronic mall containing many features. This individual link is their gardening endeavor.

The Antique Rose Emporium locates, raises, and sells old garden roses. The mission of the Antique Rose Emporium is to give antique roses the place of distinction they deserve in modern gardens. This is a wonderful Texas establishment which I have visited many times.

Arizona's East Valley Garden Club located in Mesa includes some useful links in their colorful home page.

Art Knapp Plantland is a chain of 18 family owned and operated nursery /garden centers located throughout beautiful British Columbia Canada who have been serving British Columbia for over 50 years.

Atlanta Garden Connection Although primarily designed for gardeners in the Atlanta, Ga. area, contains information useful to all gardening enthusiasts.

Australian National Botanic Gardens is located on the slopes of Black Mountain in Canberra, ACT and is one of a number of agencies working on the botanical bio diversity of Australia. Also related to these gardens is Common Birds of the Australian National Botanic Gardens.



Botanical Museum, Finnish Museum of Natural History is a separate institute of the University of Helsinki, Finland. In the Botanical Museum there are three divisions,viz. Cryptograms, Phanerogams and Mycology.

Boyce Thompson Southwestern Arboretum - American Southwest's oldest and most spectacularly situated botanical garden, founded in the roaring 1920's near Superior, Arizona, just outside the metropolitan Phoenix area. Take a cyber walk through this lovely arboretum.

The Burpee Seed Company says it's been "serving home gardeners since 1876." Its site features "Over the Fence", a question-and-answer service that invites visitors to email in their gardening queries to be answered by the experts at Burpee's.

The Butchart Gardens - Fifty acres of floral finery offering spectacular views as you stroll along meandering paths and expansive lawns. In 1904, the concept of The Butchart Gardens began with an effort to beautify a worked-out quarry site on the 130-acre estate of Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Butchart, pioneers in the manufacture of Portland Cement in Canada. Their endeavor became a family commitment to horticulture and hospitality spanning more than 90 years and delighting visitors from all over the world. From the exquisite Sunken Garden to the charming Rose Garden, this 50-acre show-place still maintains the gracious traditions of the past, in one of the loveliest corners in the world.

The Butterfly WebSite is dedicated to providing educational information concerning methods for attracting butterflies to your garden, raising butterflies, and preserving this fantastic natural resource for our children's future.



The Cactus & Succulent Plant Mall is an Internet resource for all growers of cacti and succulent plants. This super-succulent page points the desert gardener to all sorts of prickly resources.

Cactus and Succulent Pages. Ralph Martin is Professor of Computing at Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales and grows a number of cacti and other succulent plants and displays some of his favorites.

Calla's Place Calla has created a group of pages that contain a vast amount of gardening (and other) information including pages on Bulbs, Peony, Iris and many others including her "Plant Talk", a very unique horticultural newsletter.

The International Camellia Society has a wealth of information about this gorgeous ornamental shrub.

Canadian Orchid Congress Home page A series of pages dealing with the Canadian Orchid Congress, the association for orchid societies from across Canada. Information on orchid growing. Contact information, growing information and links to other sites.

Carnivorous Plant DataBase. The main feature of Rick Waller's serious science page is the searchable database of carnivorous plant data. But casual searchers are offered a friendly "Show me the pictures!" button, which leads to a taxonomic list of images.

Christchurch Botanic Gardens, at Christchurch, New Zealand. We visited these gardens while on an Interhostel visit to New Zealand in January 1995 and I consider them to be one of the loveliest gardens that we have ever visited.

Clinton Community Garden is located on West 48th St. in New York's Hell's Kitchen. Read of its success story and partake of its unique links.

A Walk Through Colin's Garden One thing gardeners love is to sneak a peek at some other gardener's backyard, either to steal good ideas or to make fun of bad ones. Colin provides a short tour of his garden (which is bereft of bad ideas, near as we could tell).

The Compost Heap is a guide to composting and recycling.

The Cooks' Garden sells seeds and supplies to The Kitchen Gardener. The New American Kitchen Garden is a place where gardening is a pleasure for both the gardener and the cook, a place to grow flowers and vegetables together for the pure delight of watching them blossom and fruit.

CSUBIOWEB is housed at California State University Stanislaus. In addition to a large number of links to a wide assortment of botanical and horticulturally related sites, links to several prominent societies are also listed.
