Web Sites...

web

....that take you anywhere you want to go!

Helpful hint. It's much easier to "remember" individual sites that you want to return to if you "Bookmark" them with your browser. That way, you won't get lost.

http://www.hal-pc.org/~jeans - Your HAL-PC Genealogy SIG page. This is also another way to get started. Drop by this very "user friendly" SIG and tell anyone there you are new, want to learn about your family, but not be a genealogist.

http://www.traveller.com/genealogy - A comprehensive, friendly web site with links to umpteen other sites in several different categories such as family trees, organizations, war records, etc. For instance, it will take you to the "southern cousins finder". (Please, no "Deliverance" jokes!)

http://www.everton.com/usa/tx.html - Texas oriented information and genealogy sites

http://www.plumsite.com/issr - International Reunion Registry

http://www.pbs.org - Check the "Ancestors" page

Use one of the "search" programs on the Web: AltaVista, Yahoo, Excite, etc. Caution: try to be pretty specific or your "search" will provide literally thousands of suggested sites!
